Describing Pictures
This photo is an image of giant scissors cutting through a house and a landscape. The scissors cut the house and the landscape down the middle, leaving the person inside the house looking confused. In the foreground is the beginning of the cut and some trees. In the midground is the house. In the background are the scissors as wells as some dark rain clouds. The photo has a dark look because of the rain. The viewer's attention is focused first on the house and then follows the line of the cut to the scissors.

This photo is a picture of a woman doing her laundry. She hung her clothes on the telephone wire so she must climb on a tall ladder to reach them. She is in the middle of nowhere except for what is maybe a house or a barn behind her. In the foreground, there is the woman and her pile of laundry. In the midground, there is the house or barn. In the foreground, midground and background are the telephone poles, extending back as far as the viewer can see in the picture. The photo feels light and fun. It makes the viewer think about why she would hand her clothes so far out of her reach.
This photo is of a man standing in a canoe at the edge of the water. At the edge of the water, the water turns into broken pieces of mirror. There are dead fish visible on the dirt where there is no water or mirror. In the foreground there are fish and broken mirror, in the midground there is water, and in the background there are trees. I think the photographer is trying to show that we use the earth for our own pleasure and meanwhile, it is being destroyed around us, it is dying.

This photo is of a man who rode his bike just to the edge of a steep drop off. The man looks over the edge, where the path continues below turning sharply back into the ground. In the foreground the there is the path. In the midground, there is the point where the path drops off. In the background, the path goes into the distance. This picture is photographed from above. The photographer may be trying to express the obstacles that get in the way of our lives.

This photo is of a man who walks out of one door and is walking towards another open door. Both doors are in the middle of an open field and do not seem to lead to anywhere, yet the doorways are lit. The man walking between the doors is wearing a bathrobe and slippers and is holding what is possibly a cup of coffee. There is nothing in the foreground, the man and the doors are in the midground, as well as a lamp by the door on the right, and there is nothing in the background except hills. The dark sky sets a mysterious and dark tone for the picture.

This photo is of a man who is standing by the edge of a body of water painting a picture of the landscape. The part of his body that is overlapped with the canvas in the photo looks like it is painted. Neither the landscape portion of the painting nor the painting of the man is complete. In the foreground are the man and some paints. In the midground are some rocks in the water. In the background are some more rocks and a single tree. The dark clouds cast a shadow over the whold photo.
